The Powell River Academy of Music is a not-for-profit community music school offering excellence in arts education to students of all ages as well as adults.
Through its training programs in music, dance, theatre, visual arts. the students and adults develop their talents and skills; plus acquire a life long" love of the arts".
Visitors and the citizens of Powell River are enriched through the Academy Concert Series and the many international artists that perform at the International Choral Kathaumixw Festival and International Harp Academy of the Pacific.
Academy Choirs are known world-wide through their performances, recordings, television and radio broadcasts in over 26 countries. Powell River is located 80 air miles north of Vancouver on British Columbia's beautiful 'sunshine coast' - the gateway to the extraordinary vistas of Desolation Sound.
