The Powell River Academy of Music is a not-for-profit community music school offering excellence in arts education to students of all ages as well as adults.

Through it's training programs in music, dance, theatre, visual arts and the Academy Concert Series, the International Choral Kathaumixw Festival and Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific, the Academy has become an important part of the cultural life of Powell River.

Academy Choirs are known world-wide through their performances, recordings, television and radio broadcasts.

Powell River is located 80 air miles north of Vancouver on British Columbia's beautiful 'sunshine coast' - the gateway to the extrodinary vistas of Desolation Sound.
