The Laszlo Tamasik School of Dance in partnership with the
Powell River Academy of Music is dedicated to providing the very finest training
in dance. Beginning with young students in a program of creative movement and
pre-ballet the student learns about the potential and wonder of movement. From
these beginnings the student then moves into a training program in classical
ballet that will take them to the advanced pre-professional level.
The diverse program for children and adults offers classes in modern dance, jazz and tap.
At all levels dance helps develop coordination, fitness and a sense of rhythm, musicality and expression as well as promoting self-discipline and self confidence.
The dance program provides an ideal opportunity for students’ to dance for their own enjoyment or to prepare as a performer in amateur shows or pursue a professional dance career.
Students may enroll in both class sessions and / or private lessons. Students are given opportunities to perform in both the studio and on the main stage.
