Marketing and Office Support

We are seeking a local individual for Marketing and Office Support. This 7 month part time position (approximately 300 hours) begins in January 2020 and may be extended into the fall. Job Summary

Work directly with the Music Director and Administrator
Update website of the Powell River Academy of Music and the International Choral Kathaumixw utilizing Adobe Dreamweaver; proficient in HTML and CSS, some training provided
Maintain and grow social media platforms
Prepare in-house marketing and media documents for local advertising
Maintain Patron data base
Assist with Fundraising events
Receptionist at front desk as needed/phone/ticket sales
Assist with Academy student registration including fee payments
Maintain and create documentation for the International Choral Kathaumixw
Music preparation
Engage volunteer assistance as needed
Able to work independently
Other duties as assigned


The Powell River Academy of Music is a non-profit society incorporated in 1981 dedicated to:

  • Provide arts training programs for people of all ages in music, dance, theatre and visual arts.
  • Develop, produce and manage festivals and cultural events that enrich the quality of life within the community
  • Present professional artists that are not normally offered in a rural, semi-isolated community
  • Introduce new works of art as well as Aboriginal music with a major focus on the exposure and education of the public to new and established artists
  • Share Canadian and international artists and performing ensembles to communities around British Columbia
